WILLIE DE LEON CIVIC CENTER
Convention center personnel and show organizers agree that one of the major benefits of the WILLIE DE LEON CIVIC CENTER is the availability of over 14,000 square feet of workable tradeshow and conference space. A renovation project is under consideration to add an additional 7,500 square feet and 6-8 new conference rooms to this Civic Center. Within a five block radius are full-service hotels, motels, various bed & breakfast accommodations and vacation homes that offer attendees the convenience of different stay rates---a beneficial budgeting option--- especially if attendees have to pay some expenses out of their own pockets. For exhibitors, attendees, parties, wedding guests and corporate America the Willie De Leon Civic Center's accessibility to restaurants, attractions and retail shops offers a variety of options for entertaining clients. This facility offers easy access to last minute services like printing or graphics and shipping with the U.S. Post Office, Federal Express and UPS stations right around the corner.
Located next to the Willie De Leon Civic Center are the UVALDE MEMORIAL PARK & RECREATIONAL COMPLEX & THE UVALDE RIVERWALK. Originally designated to utilize the flood plain area, this tree-shaded park and picnic area give way to cascading fountains, an amphitheater, colorful playground equipment, basketball & volleyball courts, a covered pavilion and 0.6 miles of beautiful walking trails that lead to the adjoining 18-hole, public golf course & UVALDE COUNTRY CLUB. From weddings to business parties, the Uvalde Country club comfortably accommodates up to 300 people with its spacious ballroom, two conference rooms and outdoor patio.
UVALDE ADULT ACTIVITY CENTER
Located within walking distance from historic
downtown Uvalde is the UVALDE ADULT
ACTIVITY CENTER (UAAC).This spacious
18,000 square foot facility can accommodate
up to 350 people in its auditorium, and an
additional 150 in the recreational rooms.
The Center has on-site kitchen and dining
facilities, a technology resource center,
a computer lab, a state-of-the-art wood
working shop, an auto mechanics shop
and a therapeutic swimming pool. The
UAAC staff can easily accommodate for
any event from weddings to workshops,
tradeshows to community projects, political
forums and civic events.
SOUTHWEST TEXAS JUNIOR COLLEGE: MATHEW STUDENT CENTER
Whether it's business meetings, workshops, seminars, banquets, or international business conferences, Southwest Texas Junior College combines convenience and hospitality with the opportunity to meet experienced training professionals and learn of customized training programs for
your employees. The SWTJC MATHEW STUDENT CENTER has a diverse selection of facilities starting with a spacious ballroom and dining hall that can be combined to accommodate meals for up to 800 guests. The Bluebonnet Room accommodates up to 90 people with additional conference rooms comfortably seating 100 attendees. The conference room facilities offer the convenience of private discussion and brainstorming sessions with 2 partitions/room dividers providing room for 30 occupants in each. SWTJC is conveniently located next to GARNER FIELD AIRPORT which offers air taxi services, business charters, and aircraft leasing to provide specialized services to outlying areas, the airport also provides traditional rental car services to transport visitors and tourists for hunting, camping, shopping and business.
